Cultural diversity and biodiversity are connected and intertwined since many of the issues of biodiversity are impacted by cultural diversity. Whenever new cultures come to new areas, they inevitably bring biodiversity. Diseases, animals, crops, etc. are introduced into the new areas when cultures cross paths and migrate. As a result, there cannot be cultural diversity without issues relating to biodiversity. This doesn’t mean that cultural diversity is only associated with harmful effects to biodiversity, but there tends to be a greater realization of harmful effects. The government should absolutely get involved in protecting biodiversity. However, I do not think a government can or should be involved in cultural diversity.
Within Argentina, there is a moderate amount of cultural diversity. Linguistically there are different dialects branching off of Spanish. Religiously, the population is predominantly Catholic. I think these two areas of diversity indicate that there isn’t too much cultural diversity, but there are hints of diversity. Throughout Argentina’s history, there hasn’t really been a change or loss of diversity. Once Argentina was settled, the culture and population has stayed the same. There are few environmental changes that impact diversity thus making efforts to preserve environmental aspects fairly unnecessary.
